Anat Gesser-Edelsburg, PhD is head of the Department of Health Promotion at the University of Haifa School of Public Health and an adjunct lecturer at the Sammy Ofer School of Communications at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya. She is also a senior researcher at the Participatory Social Marketing Program at Tel Aviv University. She received both her BA (Summa Cum Laude) and PhD (with Distinction) degrees in drama from Tel-Aviv University, and received The Wolf Foundation Award for PhD Students. She completed her postdoctoral research at The Minerva Center for Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Faculty of Law following being awarded the Vidal Angel Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research against Hate and Bigotry, and her research has been supported by many NGOs, academic institutions, and governmental institutions. She co-authored Talking Pupils, a recommended textbook for criminology and sociology studies, and Peace and Tolerance Encouragement among Youth by Using Theatre: Are Educational Plays an Important and Effective Tool?, which treats the multifaceted issue of peace through entertainment-education and theories of psychological health and wellbeing.
